Current Events

Ok, so the Vicente Sotto Hospital cleared out the issue by conducting an independent investigation and the result, as expected was so typically Filipino (Lutong Macau). They said that they will be ready to face any charges filed and they will not ditch the Surgeon because they see it as a threat to their manpower. How stupid they can get?? Res Ipsa Loquitor. There are no evidences needed to prove that the Surgeon, Nurses (Staff or CI) and student nurses were guilty of violating the Patient's Bill of Rights, also in addition, "Human Rights".

Revocation of their licenses and disbarment in taking the board exams (for the student nurses) wasn't even enough to bring back the victim's dignity.

They are a disgrace to the country.

However, because some Filipinos are stupid, I don't think that would happen. =)

Sadly, I've witnessed other doctors do the same. Like when I assisted a Liposuction procedure for a patient who was a candidate for Bariatric Surgery (but she opted liposuction which is less invasive) so upon induction of the anesthesia, the doctors were already mocking her. I quoted the Surgeon, "Whoah!Ito na ang pinaka malaking babae na nakita ko. Parang balyena ano?" I tried to tell the surgeon what if the patient heard what he said and he replied, "Di bale, the anesthesia causes amnesia".

I say, it is very alarming that our health care system's morale is being threatened by just simple yet destructive acts.
